What a better way to start this spring by joining events across London and let your masculinity run free.

It is that time of the year again, the flowers are blooming, and the days are getting longer, spring has finally arrived in the capital. A festival of new masculinity is on till the end of the month and explores with fun men’s mental health.

Different venues in East London are hosting events, from talk shows, live podcast and grooming lounges to exhibition, that will help you end all the bias behind male masculinity. Initiated by the book of man, this festival considers the inner lives of men.

While male suicide rates are on the rise, the initiative encourages men to open up and talk about their issues without any taboo. Women are of course more than welcome to join the festivities as exploring the masculinity of their partner will certainly leave them beaming.

The festival has been running from January till the end of March, and while a lot events has already happened you can still have the chance to catch the last two panels discussion next week, about gender relation and fatherhood. The festival will end on the 19th of March with a Dean Chalkley Exhibition, a photography gallery focusing on the old ideals of masculinity.

In a time where #MeToo movement is changing the world for the feminism fight, the book of man, a support network, offers inspiration to the millennial man, unlike any other. The idea behind male domination is not only having an impact on women, but on men as well. Looking back at the recent figures, it’s a bad time for men too, rising suicide, addiction, domestic violence… it’s time to take control back of your life, and open-up.

“The book of man is the voice of a new type of man” says Martin Robinson, the Editor. We’ve been told the wrong message about men, about how strong they need to be, how they should behave, and this out of date idea is causing too much damage on human. The book of man, is pushing you to be yourself, “there is no right way to be a man,” says Martin, in the Editor Letter, so man up and open up.
